NEATPIPES 5 YEARS
I asked five Italian pipemakers to produce a limited series of 5 pipes/series to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Neatpipes.com Each of these series has a philosophy that reflect the beliefs that helped me develop my Neatpipes project.
The fourth series was made by TONINO JACONO; he decide to revive a very peculiar pipe that he made in a small number, during 80's. History: this is one of the base of my work through Neatpipes and Tonino Jacono (like several other pipemakers) has a long history to tell. It is full of experimentations and fantastic creations, like the asymmetric shape that you can admire in this page. Yes, in fact the 4th Series of Neatpipes 5 Years is made of 5 large freeform pipes, with an asymmetric shank and mouthpiece. I would thank my friend Tonino for dedicating such an important pipe to Neatpipes Anniversary.
Description
The pipe presented in this page is a very large freeform which seems a golf "MAZZA". In order to obtain this fantastic pipe, Tonino Jacono used a very large block of briar and he cut it in an opposite way, using the natural plateau at the bottom. The result is a super waved plateau on the bottom of the bowl. The grain is straigh and clear all around. The chamber is large and capacious and it has thick walls for a long, untiring smoke. The round shank ends with a short, bent and saddled mouthpiece which is featured by a smooth briar ring. Please enjoy pictures, it is the best way to understand the strange shape of this beautiful pipe.
