LATEST NEWS

July 23th, 2008
Dear friends of Neatpipes,
as you've surely notice I slowed down the updates of the website, but I am still working a lot during this hot summer, to
provide you a lot of news in September, when I will resume the weekly update. I suggest you to keep you updated subscribing to Neatpipes' Newsletter if you've not done it already.
I've just added to my selection of pipes a very large group of LUIGI RADICE pipes (classic no-oil cured pipes): you'll have the chance to find your perfect pipes among 31 pieces.
I select my pipes visiting Radice's workshop weekly, reserving the pipes I am interesting in even before it is finished! I have been able to find a large group of giant Silk Cut pipes, which are featured by a superb sandblasting.
The "UNDERWOOD" finish selection is very rich, with more than 10 pipes in several classic shapes.
I have also been able to find some "special" pipes like a beautiful and uncommon pair of "TWIN PIPES" in a smaller size (sandblasted finish). The "highest" grades are represented by a nice selection of "Collect" pipes in various sizes and shapes.
I wish you all a nice and relaxing summer.
Thanks for visiting
Luca

July 15th, 2008
Dear friends of Neatpipes,
I am happy to update my website
with a group of 10 Estate Castello pipes in MINT condition. The most of them are from the late 60's or early 70's: this is a very rare chance to get a vintage pipe at a very good price.
All the pipes have been professionally restored, cleaned and sterilized and ready to be used!
I wish you to enjoy the pictured. Thank you very much for visiting.

Dear friend,
thanks for visiting my website. This week update is dedicated to TONINO JACONO, very famous pipemaker from Jesi, near Ancona, Italy.
I met Tonino few weeks ago and I have had the chance to select some pipes from his latest production. I am very happy to add some of them on my website today.
You'll find almost all finishes, from the rusticated Knight with two slightly bent apples to three Classical shapes straight grains, in the QUEEN grade.
I have also been able to find some top grades like Queen EE or Kings. You'll find a very beautiful giant freeform
with a natural plateau rim and a large bent Apple in the top KING grade.
I wish you to enjoy the pictures!

NEATPIPES 6TH ANNIVERSARY

Dear friend,
The 5th series of pipes made to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Neatpipes has arrived with a slight delay, just at the end of the year. Today, June 18th 2008 is the 6th Anniversary of Neatpipes.com and I would like to celebrate it in a very special way. You will be able to get one of the 5 pair of pipes (that I will offer very soon on my website) only playing in an aution (powered by Ebay). The profit will be completely devolved to CROCE ROSSA ITALIANA (Italian Red Cross) which is powerfully helping Chinese people who have been affected by the terrible disaster of the earthquake on May 12th 2008. The special auction will start today (June 18th) and will be on for the next 10 days (it will end on June 27th). I am sure that we will be able to collect some funds to support the great work of all those people who are making a very good job there!

Thanks in advance
Luca

Dear friend,
my flight is in few hours! I am leaving for Chicago to attend the pipe show.
My fly will arrive today (Wed. 30th) a
t 5 p.m. and I'll directly move to the Pheasant Run Resort.
I am not sure that I will be able to update this note-board during my stay in United States, but I will try to do it! I will be back on May 11th.

During these days I will continue to answer your emails and requests, as always!

Thursday night is reserved for a pre-show in my room (I will post a note in the noteboard at the resort) and I will be happy to meet you there, enjoying a couple of wine!
I will be at the pre-show of Friday and I will open my room again during the night.
The "real" show starts on Saturday 3rd and will end on Sunday 4th. Neatpipes will have a large stand and I will show a selection of some of the best pipes from my collection, together with a large number of unseen pipes: I have put together a STUNNING collection of vintage ESTATE CASTELLO pipes that I have reserved for Chicago Pipe Show.
But it will be a very rich show, I am sure!
One of the most important thing of 2008 Pipe Show for Neatpipes is the presence of one of the most famous pipemakers in Italy. MARZIO RADICE (son of the most famous LUIGI) will attend the show together with me: we will have a special collection of RADICE pipes during the show.
As you can see there will be a lot to do!
Well, I'll be happy to see you later!
Have a save trip!

PIPE SHOW 2008!

Apr 25th, 2008

Dear friends,
I am ready to leave for the Chicago Pipe Show and I am going to package my pipes for a big presentation at the Show.
Before leaving I would like to introduce on my website a large update of estate pipes, most of them are vintage, from 60's and 70's.
I have collected a group of stunning pieces from some of the most famous brands around the world and I am very proud to present them today.
The most rapresented brand is the English CHARATAN: 9 pipes, giant pipes, a few could be considered magnum, most of them are unsmoked! I have also been able to find one of those super-rare CORONATION in a very peculiar shape: the CAVALIER!
England is also represented by the world famous DUNHILL: 4 pipes, some of them are unsmoked, not vintage but all selected with an exquisite taste and care for lightness and balance.
Denmark is present! 3 pipes from TOM ELTANG, FORMER and S.BANG! In order, a Poker, a Freehand sitter and a bent Pear. The three pipes have been barely smoked and ready to enjoy.
Italy is represented by CASTELLO with 2 Sea Rock Briar pipes: both pre-smoked, a peculiar panelled #55 and a well balanced slightly bent apple.

But the best way to enjoy the 18 pipes of this update is to start surfing the website, browsing some of the beautiful pictures.

Thank you very much
Luca

PIPE SHOW

2008

Apr 15th, 2008
Dear friends,
I am getting ready to attend the upcoming Chicago Pipe Show and I am happy to introduce on my website a "thematic" update dedicated to Radice pipes with his famous Hawbill shape!
Today's update confirms the strong cooperation between Radice family and Neatpipes; in fact this collection of 14 pipes has been personally selected by me at Radice's workshop in the latest two months. I have been able to find a few very classical hawkbill in the clear shape and some of Luigi's most classical variants like the Poker Hawkbill. The "lower" grade is the Clear grade but you will find a few "Clear Gold" and"Clear F". The top pipe is the very rare Clear "Gocce d'Oro" (Gold drops) in a beautiful wooden box. I have also been able to find three magnum Hawbill in the Rind (rusticated), Silk Cut (sandblasted) and Clear (Smooth straight grain).
With this update I am introducing a small group of 5 Tobacco Jars made by Gianluca Radice (Luigi's second son); these jars are 100% hand made and created using different essences of woods.
Back to the Chicago pipe show, I will arrive at the Pheasant Run Resort on Wednesday 30th of May and I will be happy to meet all friends and customers who will attend the pipe show.
I will add more news and a "schedule" of Neatpipes activities in Chicago later these weeks.

Now, I wish you to enjoy the update! Thank you very much.

Apr 8th, 2008
Dear friends,
for the first time after a couple of years I am proud to present on my website a selection of estate (presmoked) pipes from two of the most prestigious brands: DUNHILL & CASTELLO!
There is something that joins the two groups of pipes: the first thing is the MINT CONDITION that characterizes all the pipes of this week update! In fact I have been able to find two larger collection of Dunhill and Castello pipes which were barely smoked by the previous owner.
the second "common" point that the two group of pipes share is the age! Both the Castellos and the Dunhills have about 35 years of age!! These Castello pipes have been made during the very first years of 70's: we can easily recognize the style of the shapes and the IVORY bar logo on the mouthpiece.
The Dunhills comes from 70's (with an exception for a Root Briar which has been made during 1985).
I wish you a very pleasant surf through the pages of my website, enjoying some beautiful pipes.
Thank you and happy smoking!

Dear friends, After my weekly visit to the Castello workshop in Cantù I am happy to should you a selection of the pipes that I have been able to pick up with the help of the expert eye of Franco Coppo.
This week's update is including 12 pipes in various finishing: the "Sea Rock" is represented by a Giant bent Bulldog, very nice in size and shape. The sandblasted "Old Antiquari" is represented by a large/long Lovat #75. There are all the smooth finishes, from the "Castello" up to a very beautiful "Collection", "Occhio di Pernice" and the nice elegant "Perla Nera" black smooth.

After these (too short) Easter holidays, I am pleased to present on my website a small series of three LIMITED EDITION pipes made by Luigi Radice for Neatpipes. Luigi took inspiration from vintage shapes and he has re-proposed them with a modern vision and the care of details which is very typical of his masterpieces.
I invite you to enjoy the pictures and to take advantage to add one of these stunning pipes which are featured by a stunning grain, to your collection.

Thank you once again!

Mar 17th, 2008

in the latest months I received several inquiries about estate vintage Dunhill pipes (in fact I was used to carry many of them). My answer was that I was looking to find a good collection of pipes, in good shape!
Well, I have found it!!!!
I am very proud to show you 18 estate vintage Dunhill pipes from the second half of 70's and early 80's. The previous owner of these pipes was a connoisseur of Dunhills and his collection was larger: I have acquired a part of it. You'll be able to find a complete selection of finished (from Shell to Root Briar) in a variety of classic and uncommon shapes.
All the pipe have been carefully refurbished and restored by me: the result is a perfect pipe! You will hardly recognize if it has been smoked or not!!! I have to say that the pipe was perfectly smoked (with english tobacco) and without any kind of problem.

I wish you to enjoy the collection (click on latest update link)

In the latest days the "ghost" of email problem has appeared again to me: if you are not receiving an answer to your email within 24 hours, please forward it to my alternative address.

this week update is expressly focused on Luigi Radice pipes. You will find a selection 12 beautiful pipes in various finishes and shapes.
There are a few pipes that I cared about the design and shapes, like the beautiful magnum slightly bent apple with Sterling Silver band or the thick 1/4 bent Rhodesian.
You'll also find a very beautiful "Radice" in the Neatpipes Chubby shape, which is featured by a briar cup on the bowl.
Luigi's creativity is surely visible in the whole update, but I would like to underline the "Limited Edition" giant pot, with a leave of tobacco embossed on the bottom of the bowl.
I invite you to contact me for any further question.

Jan 15th, 2008

I am very proud to show you the fourth limited series of Neatpipes 5 Years pipes. These pipes have been realized by Tonino Jacono, pipemaker who lives in Jesi, Marche, Italy.
Neatpipes is an official Jacono Retailer since 2003 and I've always enjoyed my cooperation with Tonino. I visited his workshop several times to pick up pipes to offer on the website.
In order to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Neatpipes I asked five Italian pipemakers to produce a limited series of 5 pipes/series each one. Each of these series has a philosophy that reflect the beliefs that I've always followed to develop my Neatpipes project.
Tonino decide to revive a very peculiar pipe that he made in a very small number, during 80's. History: this is one of the base of my work through Neatpipes and Tonino Jacono has a long history to tell. It is full of experimentations and fantastic creations, like the asymmetric shapes that you can admire in this Limited Edition. Infact the 4th Series of Neatpipes 5 Years is made of 5 large freeform pipes, with an asymmetric shank and mouthpiece. I would thank my friend Tonino
for dedicating such an important pipe to Neatpipes Anniversary.
I invite you all to surf the website to display all new pipes added; please get in touch with me for further information.
Puff your pipe and enjoy your stay at Neatpipes.com
Thank you once again. Luca

Dec 05th 2007
December has arrived and the Christmas holidays are rapidly approaching.
This weeks update is a little different. Instead of focusing on a specific brand, I want to give you a great selection of fantastic pipes so that you can find the one that you like, perhaps even a Christmas present. Therefore, I have updated my website with 22 pipes by Baldo Baldi, Castello and Radice.
Neatpipes Baldo Baldi selection consists of 3 sandblasted and 4 smooth pipes. You'll find a gorgeous large brown sandblasted pipe from the Genovese pipemaker that is the most pure Baldi's style.
I also have 9 Castello pipes with different finishes. I was fortunate to find several beautiful rusticated very long Canadian #32 and a selection of smooth #55 in small, medium and giant sizes. I also have 6 stunning Radice pipes. Check out the two very large classical Billiards that Luigi Radice made in the Underwood and Clear finish. I am sure that these two pipes will be sold quickly because they are gorgeous. If you are interested in any of these pipes, please contact me.
I hope that you enjoy your visit to my website!

Nov 27th 2007

Christmas is just around the corner and Santa is deciding which pipe to take on his journey. Before he decides, I want to thank Maurizio Tombari and his wife Stefania of “Le Nuvole” for their early Christmas present. I am so excited about their gift that I want to share it with you. Their present is 5 pipes that they created for the “Neatpipes 5 th Year” series”! This is the third of 5 series of pipes made by different Italian pipemakers, and I am pleased to introduce them on my website.
Maurizio and Stefania created a perfectly balanced pipe that has a very special shape that seems to be moved by the wind! Perhaps it may even be Santa's favourite, as he flies from house to house. The pipe has perfect proportions. While it is short, it has a large chamber and thick walls. The quarter bent shank makes it light and easy to hold in your mouth.
Please visit our website to see the 5 pieces made by “Le Nuvole” for this limited series.
As a preview of exciting things to come, the 4 th series will be made by Tonino Jacono and the 5 th series will be made by “Castello”… but more about that later.

Thank you once again. Luca

Nov 22nd 2007

Nov 07th 2007
Castello is the king this week at Neatpipes! I have a large selection of new unsmoked Castello pipes in various finishes and shapes. I found a nice selection of the very desirable #10 shape. Sea Rock, Old Antiquari, Perla Nera, “Castello” and Collection grades are also available. The Perla Nera finish consists of more than 15 layers of black colour that are polished to produce a very elegant pipe. I also have examples of the #55 shape that is very popular and requested. The #55 shape comes in both small and medium sizes. I have pipes in Old Antiquari, “Castello” and Collection grades. I also have two top of the line pieces this week! Both are graded as Collection Fiammata K. One is a boxed Oliphant! The other one is a medium sized “Opera”. Both shapes are uncommon, even more so if we consider their grade!
I hope that you enjoy visiting my website.
The IV CAP Madrid event is coming! It will be held on Saturday 17 th in “La Masia” Restaurant, Madrid. I want to thank my CAP Madrid friends for inviting me to the show! I will be there from Friday until Saturday and invite everyone to contact me!
I hope to see you there! Luca.

Nov 02nd 2007 This week is closed by a nice selection of Paolo Becker pipes.
I am very proud to present this jewel on my website. I hope that you enjoy the slide show above. It is one of the “Collection” shapes made by Paolo, and it is called “Rhodesian Double Sitter” because it can stand on its own if it is laid on the bottom and shank or it is placed upright. The grade of the pipe is “Collection Royal Flush B”, which is one of the highest in Paolo Becker grading system. You'll find a nice pair of freeforms in smooth and sandblasted finishes. The selection is very rich of sandblasted "Clubs" pipes. I suggest you to have a look and enjoy the selection.
I hope that you have a nice time surfing my website. Thank you. Luca

Oct 29th 2007

This is a big week on Neatpipes.com! I am adding 22 new Radice pipes. They include 6 different finishes of a beautiful new shape that Luigi Radice and I recently developed. It is a slightly bent squat tomato that has a chunky bowl, rich wood and a short round shank. You can easily hold this pipe in your mouth thanks to its light weight and great shape. During my weekly visit to the Radice workshop, I also found a couple of the famous “crazy” Luigi's creations. They include a long Canadian that has a nice smooth handle with stunning birdseye and pipe made from a sheep horn that has a briar bowl. Another beautiful piece is the giant Calabash that shows a gorgeous sandblasting. I also have a nice selection of smooth pipes in various finishes. I designed pipe NR198 (“Fishbone”) that has a nice balanced shape and is stamped “Neatpipes Own Design” and with serial number (006.2007). I hope that you have a nice time surfing my website. Thank you. Luca

Oct 22nd 2007

I would close the week and wish you a pleasant week-end with a smaller update in the Castello section. You will find 9 unsmoked pipes in various shapes and finishes. The basical rusticated finish, the Sea Rock Briar is present in 4 pipes. Two of them, a smaller #12 Liverpool and a lightly bent billiard, have a reddish colour, which is pretty rare to be found. The fourth is a large G Natural Vergin in the #297 shape.
The sandblasted Old Antiquari finishing is represented by one of the 253 Limited Edition pipes made for the 60 th Anniversary of the Castello. The pipe shows a stunning ring grain, deep and regular all around the bowl.
The smooths basical finishes see 3 pipes: the first is an undergraded Billiard with a gorgeous birdseye, then a peculiar egg with diamond shank and the last one is a bent with a nice contrasted birdseye, in the Collection Occhio di Pernice finish.
But the top piece of this update is a stunning Billiard with a superb angel hair grain and gorgeous birdseye. Its grade is Collection Fiammata KK.
I wish you to enjoy the selection. For any questions please do not hesitate to write me. Luca

Oct 18th 2007
A long time has passed since my last update of Jacono's pipes. I met Tonino a couple of weeks ago before the Bologna Pipe Show and he showed me a large selection of smooth pipes. Since they were so outstanding, I couldn't resist buying almost the whole group!
I am proud today to add them to my website and offer them to you. It is with out a doubt the best selection of Jacono's pipes that you will see at one site on the internet. I believe that words are unnecessary this week. I will just wish you a pleasant trip through my pages. If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to write me. You are always welcome at Neatpipes! Luca

Oct 12th 2007
This weeks update is dedicated to a special selection of Ardor pipes. I've been able to acquire from a private collection a group of peculiar and funny pipes. The largest part of them are in the "Meteora" finish which is featured by a close rustication which is alternated by chips of smooth briar, creating a very nice play of colours. Most of them have a bamboo shank for a cooler and fresh smoke, thanks to the natural filter created by the bamboo.
The top pieces are two stunning Venere 2 Punti, the top grade of Ardor grading system. The grain of these pipes is outstanding, clear and perfect all around.
The group of these Ardor pipes are new and still unsmoked. You can see it in the estate section because I've not bought them directly by Ardor workshop but conditions of each piece is oustanding, like new.
I hope you'll enjoy the selection. I invite you to write me if you need further information or prices.
Happy smokes. Luca

Oct 03rd 2007

This might be the change to get one of the rare piece from this Limited Series. In this update you will also find a good bunch of Sea Rock, Old Antiquari, one Perla Nera and a couple of Collection, everything in various shapes #55, #84, #15, #54. The last beautiful piece is a GG Classical Bent #65 with a special rustication.
Beside this series of unsmoked pipes, you'll also find six estate, presmoked Castello pipes: a straight Bulldog #56, a bent Rhodesian #54, a short thick Canadian #33, a bent Egg #93, a freeform Occhio di Pernice and, at the end a unique very giant Collection Greatline KKK in a shape that the old Carlos Scotti was used to realize in the beginning of Castello history. The pipe has been smoked a couple of times only and it is in excellent condition, like new.
I hope you'll enjoy the selection. I invite you to write me if you need further information or prices.
Happy smokes. Luca

Finally the "Radice Section" is getting bigger! You'll now find 40 pipes to display! You might find a piece that you will fall in love with! The new selection is made of 24 new pipes in various finishes and shapes. It starts with a small series of classical shapes, like Billiard, Liverpool, Canadian, in the rusticated "Rind" finish. The sandblasted pipes are stunning. The top pieces is surely a large freeform Collect which shows a gorgeous ring grain. The selection of the smooth include a curious remake of the "Opera" and a Billiard with Faux Bamboo.
I have also been able to find a few pieces (7 to be exact), to thicked the selection of the "Neatpipe Billiard Chubby". The top piece is a gorgeous natural rusticated: with this group of Chubbies, I am glad to introduce a variation on the "option" applied on the shank; some of the pipes will be featured by a nice smooth Boxwood Ring. I like it very much and I find it elegant. The colour of the boxwood is beautiful and it makes a nice contrast especially on the dark stained pipes.
I take the chance to inform you that I will be present with a stand at the Bologna Pipe Show which will be held on Sept. 28,29,30. I will only attend the Saturday and Sunday.
My selection of pipes will be quite large even if reduced to only 4 pipemakers: Radice, Paolo Becker, Tonino Jacono and Castello.
I wish you happy pipe smokes and hope to meet you in Bologna. Luca

A new week has come and I am happy to thicken my Paolo Becker selection with 12 unsmoked beautiful pipes. You'll find 12 pipes smooth, sandblasted and a couple of stunning pieces from the "Collection" Series. Both are in the Cobra shape with the very long bamboo shank. It is a typical creation by Paolo. Beside these top pieces you'll find a selection of various sandblasted "2 Clubs" with and without options like the double boxwood ring or horn mouthpiece. The smooth selection is made up by four pipes: Dublin Billiard, Rhodesian, Canadian and Chimney. These are the shapes.
I invite you to visit Paolo Becker sections to discover the beauty of each of his pipes.
I wish you happy pipe smokes. Luca

Sept 05th 2007
September has come and I am ready to start the new season with a lot, a lot, a lot of news! Which is the better way to start if not introducing the second series of the (Neatpipes 5 Years) pipes?!? These five pipes has been made by Paolo Becker, pipemaker in Rome. Please have a look at the pictures aside or visit Paolo Becker's section and you will discover the beauty of the shape.
As you can see something has changed surfing the website (I can say that a lot will change soon too!). Beside to the new Homepage style, the most important new is the selection of pipemakers in the "NEW PIPES" section. As you can see it has been reduced! After these years I realized that I would prefer to focus my attention to less brands, less pipemakers, developing their selectiong surfing 360° what they make. Each page of the pipemaker I will deal with will contain a very large selection of pipes; I will try to show you the most complete selection as possible, on the base of what the artesan has available at the moment.
I will start to add new pipes from next week. The stock will be completed changed and the old stock (the pipes that you've seen up today) will be taken away. If you like a pipe I have today on the website... it might be your latest chance to get it.
Another important new in the NEW PIPES section is that since today you'll be also able to display ALL the pipes available on the website per shape (and not only per pipemakers). You'll find the list of the shapes just below the selection of pipemakers
The ESTATE PIPES section will be changed soon. It will also include those pipes, unsmoked that I buy from private collections (and not directly by pipemakers). I would be very happy if you should have suggestion and notes. Neatpipes is always developing; my goal is to create a nice place to stay, to read and to join.
Thank you and Happy Smokes! Luca

Jul 05th 2007
I am very happy to present the first series of the Neatpipes 5 years pipes which has been made by the hands of Luigi Radice.
The shape is clearly inspired by the thick Billiard Chubby [Neatpipes Own Design] but with the addition of something special: a uncommon and very waved Natural Plateau rim which makes the shape of the pipe more dynamic and attractive. The round shank is featured by a thick 18K White Gold band, very precious and peculiar. It makes a sort of mirror effect and it fits perfectly on the shank. The pipes come in a Limited Edition Series of 5 pieces only. The first piece is the one which shows the best grain even if the five pieces are all smoth and with gorgeous grain. I wish you to enjoy the pictures, as always. Thank you very much for your visit and happy smoking!

Dear fellow pipesmokers,
this is the week of Radice pipes with a large addition both in unsmoked and estate selection. In the brand-new selection you'll be able to find a small group of the Neatpipes Chubby Billiard, in various finishing. Luigi and I decided to change the pattern of the Silver band, you'll find new decorations! Then you'll find a very nice, light Nautilus Rind, for those smokers who loves smoking pipe during fishing or sailing. You'll be also able to find two magnum Pot Billiards in the smooth Clear and rusticated Rind finishings. In the estate selection of Radice pipes you'll find 7 pipes, all rusticated and sandblasted. Through them you'll find two beautiful pieces from the "RETRO" series, made on the base of the old "Caminetto" shapes. Please enjoy the selection and contact me for further information! Luca

5th ANNIVERSARY

Neatpipes is a project that I am developing since 2002, 18 of June, with a specific target: trying to offer to pipe smokers the best selection of handmade pipes basing my choice on few simple rules. First of all the pipes selected to take a place on Neatpipes are 100% handmade (I also have some machine made or machine assisted, but only in the estate selection). I must like the pipe, it must hit my attention and call me. Each pipe I but to be sold on my website is something that I buy like for my personal use. I pay a lot of attention to the shape and the line of the pipes: a perfect proportion, a light and balanced shape is the most important thing in a pipe, for me. When possible I select the pipes directly at the artisan, visiting his workshop: I need a direct relation with the artist of the creations I sell, I need to know how the pipe is made, I need to enter in the pipemaker word to be part of that process. In this way I have been able to build several cooperation with pipemakers up to create specific shapes or series of pipes dedicated to the Neatpipes store. An example is the shape that Maurizio and Stefania Tombari developed for Neatpipes back in 2005; the latest is the best-seller Billiard Chubby by Radice that I designed in proportions and made in exclusive for my store. To celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Neatpipes I am very happy to announce a cooperation with 5 Italian artisans which will be developed during the upcoming year (18 of June 2007/18 of June 2008). Baldo Baldi, Paolo Becker, Tonino Jacono, Radice Maurizio Tombari of Le Nuvole: five very famous Italian pipemakers will create a small series of 5 pipes each one (for a total of 25 pipes), as exclusive for Neatpipes. The pipes will be in a Limited Edition series, numbered from 1 to 5 each small series; these pipes will see the introduction of the new stamping "Neatpipes Own Design" which will identificate, from today, a pipe made with my design, sketch or idea. More and more information will be added on the web site soon: the first of the 5 different series is coming...

This is my way to thank you for your friendship to me and my work. Luca

Dear fellow pipesmokers,
I would celebrate this important day for me and my store with a group of 5 new smooth Paolo Becker, directly from his workshop in Rome, where he works with his son, Federice. Paolo only makes a few pipes a year and I am really happy to have a conspicuous number of his creation in my selection.
You'll be able to find a nice Poker "4 diamonds" grade, with a nice grain and a round thin mouthpiece. The "3 hearts" grade is represented by two squat tomatoes; the first one is a straight piece with a saddled mouthpiece and a double box-wood ring inlay. The second is a stunning grained 1/4 bent with a thin mouthpiece and a stunning, gorheous birdseye on the very wide bottom. The 4th piece is a freeform with a straight grain and a close birdseye. It is featured by an olivewood inlay and by a cumberland mouthpiece. The last piece is a very classical straight dublin which shows a first rate birdsye on both sides.
I wish you to enjoy the selection of the week as well as all the choice of pipes that I always select with a lot of care for you. Luca

You'll find a couple of stunning Old Antiquari: a very nice Billiard with a Natural Plateau Top and a stunning grained Greatline. Two unsommon clear Trade Mark are available in the #16 and #12 Liverpool shape. You'll find a very beautiful large Collection with a freeform Billiard shape with a smooth briar inlay. One of the most rare grades of Castello is the "Collection Fiammata". You'll find an undommon Rhodesian with a squared shank and mouthpiece. A nice pair of #97 Oom Paul are available: one is a close Occhio di Pernice (birdseye), the other one is a peculiar "Castello" grade. The last piece is a vintage #65 with a perfect balance: a massive bowl is connected to a thin fishtail shank through a short shank. Please enjoy the new pipes! Luca

Jun 06th 2007
Dear fellow pipesmokers,
I am very happy to start the moth of June with a lot of news about pipes: my selection is getting larger and I am glad to be able to add only the best of the pipes available from pipemakers.
In the update of this week you'll be able to find five unsmoked Baldo Baldi straight grained pipes from a recent manufacture. The first one is a straight Rhodesian with a stunning grain, then you'll find a bent pot which recalls a #55 by Castello; the latest piece is a stunning freeform with a natural plateau.
The other section updated this week is the RADICE! Nothing about Chubby Billiard for Neatpipes this week... Luigi and his sons, Marzio and Gianluca need a lull! But something special is available now their section: you'll find some more classical pieces as introduction to a small selection of freehand pipes with a real stunning straight grain. One of these pipes, NR120, has the best grain I have ever seen on a Radice pipe! Pictures talk by their own.... Enjoy! Luca

May 30th 2007
Dear fellow pipesmokers,
the end of May is arrived and summer time is coming! In few days I'll be ready to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Neatpipes.com: a very important goal for me.
I am please to offer this week five stunning pipes from Denmark. I am always working to offer the best pieces as possible and it is more true on Danish pipes! In this small update you'll be able to find one of the rare Anne Julie woman's leg, completely smooth and with a stunning grain. The second piece is one of my favourite shapes by Tom Eltang, the Eskimo: you'll find a Star grade, but with a really stunning grain and birdseye. You surely know Kurt Balleby: I had some of his pipes in the past and I am now happy to reintroduce his creations in my selection. You'll find a perfect grained bent apple and a nice freeform sandblasted. The latest piece is a nice smooth freeform by Leo Borgart. It is a pre-smoked pipe but in very excellent condition. Please enjoy! Luca

Dear fellow pipesmokers,
news continue to come at Neatpipes.com. If you would keep you update and if you're not in my mailing list, please subscribe right away!
This week I am pleased to offer a small selection of Radice pipes: most of them are in my favourite shape, the Chubby Billiard. You'll find five nice pieces, three smooth Clear with a beautiful birdseye and a couple of "Radice" finishing. One of them has a very special and new brown colour and it shows a close birdseye on both sides. Then I have added a nice rusticated Knight by Tonino Jacono which comes from 1999 manufacture. It is one of those pipes made for McCranie's store for the 20th Anniversary.
You'll find some few changes in my descriptive charts, especially in the price section. I am updating all my website with the double price VAT included and VAT Free. If you are from outside of European Union you will save Italian VAT on your purchase. Stay tuned! Luca.
