The most famous and classic pipe made today is surely the Billiard. It is characterized by a cylindrical bowl connected with a round shank which has approximately the same lenght as the height of the bowl (this is true in the most pure style). All known pipemaker has realized a Billiard, surely with variation concerning his own style. It has been seen with taper stem or saddled. The Army Mount style stem is also quite common and appreciated.

CONNECTED SHAPES

The Classic Billiard is also available in the Bent style with 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 or 1/2 bent stem.

If the Billiard has a squat bowl, short in height, it is considered a Pot.

The Liverpool is featured by a longer round shank but with a taper stem.

The Lovat is featured by a longer round shank but with a short saddled mouthpiece.

The Hungarian could be considered a full bent Billiard with a stacked bowl.

The Billiard could come in many variants, with various cants or shape of the shank or stem.
