The Original Hawkbill has been made by Castello. It is the famous #84 which is one of the most popular shape made by the factory in Cantù.
The bowl is usually a perfect sphere and the oval shank start from the bottom of the bowl and it makes a curve connecting the taper stem. The bent of the shank is usually nearly to have an impossible drilling, which is made in the traditional way, perfectly straight and centred at the bottom of the chamber. Many pipemakers replyed this shape with some changes to the form of the bowl and bent.
